Round 1 is a huge club round for Hawthorn. We have eight Junior teams playing on Friday night and one on Saturday morning, PLUS eight senior teams on Saturday and one on Sunday. A BBQ will be run at the club house on Saturday afternoon, so be sure to come down, grab a sausage and a beer and enjoy watching some great hockey on a beautiful day! Hope to see you there!

A Free Umpire Training Program will be held at the clubrooms at 6pm on Tuesday 27th March. The session will include an overview of the Hockey Victoria Rules & Regulations and their interpretation, as well as a practical session on the pitch covering positioning, use of the whistle and signalling. The Hawthorn Hockey Club would like to congratulate Claire Messent, the 2011Women’s State League 1 Captain, for her selection in the 2012 Hockeyroos National Senior / Olympic Squad. Messy will be moving to Perth in a few weeks to start training!!! GO MESSY!!!

The D-West team completed their unbeaten run with a 4-nil win over Elwood, conceding only 2 goals for the entire season.

E-South (Blue) won both major and minor premierships for the second year in a row, with a 2-1 win on a second penalty corner AFTER extra time.

The School Sports Victoria (SSV) Girls (12 & Under) state team includes Hawthorn player Pheobe Robinson.

The U13 & U15 State Team and U13 & U15 State Development Program squads have been announced. Hawthorn is represented by a number of junior players, including: Jessica Joyce, Emily Joyce, John Mitchell & Alex Schwarcz.
