George Bazeley in Kookaburra’s Olympic Squad!
Two time Hawthorn best and fairest winner and premiership goalkeeper, George Bazeley, has been selected among five Victorians in Ric Charlesworth’s 24-man London 2012 Olympic squad. This is due reward for George’s years of hard work and training that has seen him transition from club-level to state-level to world-class goalkeeper. And all this during one of Australian hockey’s most globally dominant periods, having won the past four Champions Trophies and the World Cup.
George - congratulations from all associated with the Hawthorn Hockey Club. We are all enjoying watching your continued rise and wish you all the best over the coming training block leading up to the Olympics.

George Bazeley IN AZLAN SHAH
Hawthorn goalkeeper George Bazeley is currently flying the flag for Australia at the Sultan Azlan Shah international tournament in Malaysia.
With the 2012 London Olympics drawing closer and with the team having not competed since October last year due their hectic schedule in 2010 which saw them become the first team in history to win the Champions Trophy, World Cup and Commonwealth Games in the one year, the Azlan Shah Cup presents a great opportunity for the Kookaburras to regroup and continue their dominant form towards London.
Have a great tournament George and see you back at the club soon!
