Also congratulations to Meg Lanning who represented Victoria in the recent U18 Women’s National Championships held in Canberra and scored 9 goals!

PRESIDENTS WELCOME.

Welcome to the 2009 season. 2008 was a remakable year for Hawthorn. Three Junior teams contested the finals and all three went on to win Premierships on a memorable Friday night at Melbourne High.

Both the State League 1 men’s and women’s team won. It was especially pleasing to see the level of support given on the day by members of the junior division.

The committee will again be striving to improve the Club and the major emphasis continues to be improving the coaching. The establishment of the Robin Hodder Foundation will assist greatly in the future development of a high standard of coaching across the club. Already this year thanks to the senior division we have an impressive group of coaches signed up.

We will continue to run BBQs on Friday nights. Teams will be rostered on to assist Kathy Greenaway and Janet Cameron.

Unfortunately this year has seen an increase in fees. This is the first time in five years that fees have increased and is nescessary to ensure a solid financial base for the club.
