President’s Welcome - Mike Ryan

Hawthorn Hockey Club Veterans has entered 6 teams in 2011 (5 Men and 1 Women’s) and is continuing to grow each year. We have had some success with our 1st progressing to A Grade. As I have A Grade is very much like SL1 just slower and played by old blokes. It is played each Monday night from April to October and we always have a place for a player regardless of skills or fitness.
 
We need approximately 18 players to support each team. We need to allow for the niggling injuries and work commitments that come with being 40+. Currently we are looking for additional numbers so if you are interested in playing with us, we are more than willing to show you how to play or reintroduce you to the game.
 
Hawthorn is a very social club and whilst important to be competitive it is done so in a good spirit with much making of new friends, drinking of beer and wine and socializing is always a priority.
 
If your turning 40 by the end of 2012 come down and introduce yourself and we can get you game.
 
 
Interested in playing? 
With this many teams in the men’s and women’s divisions, there are plenty of opportunities for players of all skill levels. Players of all standards are welcomed and encouraged to play in the veterans teams.
