Emily Hurtz joins another high performance team

Leading goal scorer from the high performance Hawthorn Women’s Premier League team, Emily Hurtz, has joined another high performance team – the HV High Performance Team.

Emily Hurtz’s Career Highlights

May 2009 – Makes senior international debut for Hockeryoos against South Africa. Scores in her second and third appearances.

July 2009 – Wins silver medal at Champions Trophy in Sydney, missing on gold to Argentina on penalties.

October 2010 – Wins Commonwealth Games gold medal after beating New Zealand on penalties. Scores hat-trick in opening game against Trinidad & Tobago and one goal against South Africa.

June 2011 – Hockeyroos finish sixth at Champions Trophy in Amstelveen.

August 2012 – Reserve athlete for the London 2012 Olympic Games where the Hockeyroos finish fifth, two places higher than their world ranking of the time.

September 2012 – Win Champions Challenge gold medal in Dublin, securing Hockeyroos qualification back to the top tier, the Champions Trophy, in 2014.

June 2013 – Wins inaugural World League Semi-Final tournament in London, scoring against Spain and China, to help the Hockeyroos qualify for the 2014 World Cup and the World League Finals.

June 2014 – Wins silver medal at the World Cup in The Hague. Scores the Hockeyroos’ first goal of their campaign, an equaliser against Korea in a 3-2 win.

June 2014 – Retires from international hockey.

September 2014 – Hawthorn wins Women’s Premier League Grand Final.
