The Hawthorn Hockey Club is deeply saddened of the passing of Jimmy Scott.
Jimmy joined the club in 1951 and became a Life Member in 1992.
He played his 50th season in 2000 and his 1000th game for Hawthorn in 2001.
He ended up playing in 1038 games.
Jim was an excellent sprinter, doing the 100 yards in 10.4 seconds and training under Percy Cerruty.
Jimmy had a distinguished career in World War II. He was a draughtsman by profession and was also an accomplished artist specialising in pencil drawings.
Jimmy Scott was responsible for the mentoring of many young players, whilst ensuring older players maintained their lifelong participation with the white ball and stick.
