On Saturday 16th of November we will be hosting the JR Lugg Memorial Match.
This year, it will be played as a tournament between HHC, Old Xav’s, MHSOB, Monash University, Old Carey and TEM. The memorial day was founded to perpetuate the memory of Jonathan, who was heavily involved Hawthorn as a junior and then later at Old Xav’s as a senior.
Jono took his own life in 2009 and each year we take this opportunity to both remember and celebrate him and to generate awareness of mental health and the devastating impact it can have on the community, particularly in young adults.
Those who don’t want to play, come down for a drink and to show your support! It is an exciting day of hockey with various fundraising activities where all proceeds go to the JR Lugg Memorial Fund.
