Men’s Masters Over 50 team were leading one – nil at half time, it was a very intense match. The opposition were determined to break Hawthorn’s dominance in this competition and assembled their best ever team for the season.
With about 60 seconds to go, it was 1-1 when Hawthorn got a Penalty Corner. There was so much anticipation and tension that a forward broke and the injector was sent back to the half line.
The siren sounded and the corner was played out, the hit was deflected and looped over the GK’s head, into the net.
This is the fourth consecutive year that this team has won this competition.
